Assisting residents in acclimating to their new home
Under the direction of Paul Murray, RN, our experienced staff of Responsible Persons provides supervision/supports in activities of daily living but recognize the importance of residents maintaining their independent senior living skills. Supports are provided in personal hygiene, daily routines and safe medication administration. All direct care support is provided by staff employed by Brookhouse Home and outside agencies are not used for level of care. Our on-site services provide residents with the comfort of consistent and well trained staff.
A sigh of relief is what we hear when our residents settle in at Brookhouse. Our attentive staff get to know each resident as if they were family. By arranging dental appointments, eye exams and annual physicals, our staff can ease a lot of the anxiety associated with scheduling and getting to these appointments. We also follow up after each appointment should there be a change in medication or special orders following a procedure. Our goal is peace of mind and comfort for our residents.
Unique to a Rest Home setting, we also have positioned ourselves with community agencies to provide services that can eliminate the need for residents to go outside the home for short term rehabilitation needs. At any time during their stay at Brookhouse, we may decide an evaluation is needed to help with mobility or strength.
A caring and compassionate network
We have established a network with the finest PT, OT and rehab centers local to the area where residents can receive services without going outside the home. In addition, we have lab services that come to the home as needed, as well as a local physician and nurse practitioner who still make “house calls”. A psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a licensed Social Worker are also available for regular visits with our residents if desired. These are all valuable supports that conveniently come to the resident where they live
